Health and Special Education - ASEC

Health and Special Education (ASEC) born with a clear purpose and transformer: opening paths to a world that is more inclusive, where every child, no matter their challenges, to have access to education and health specialist.

This initiative not only seeks to integrate children with disabilities in regular education, but also strives to build a more just society, reducing the gap of discrimination and inequality.

Currently, the program impacts 8 educational centers an equal number of communities, providing opportunities to 70 children with conditions such as Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, learning difficulties, among others.

To achieve this, we provide the presence of a Specialist of Special Programming (EPE) in each educational centre. This volunteer local not only supports the teacher in the creation of methodological tools adapted, but also strengthens their abilities, giving you strategies for teaching children with special needs.

For those children whose conditions make it difficult to attendance to the school, the program extends its impact to their homes. Each week, the EPE works together with the family, ensuring that the process of learning continues at home.

The heart of the program is also the community. A Administrative council of parents meets monthly to provide follow-up to the programming, support and work for the sustainability of the project.

ASEC works in close collaboration with various institutions and strategic partners such as DIGEDEPDI, FENOPDIH, FENAPAPEDISH, SEDUC, Town Woman and many other organizations committed to equity.

Currently, we are working on the creation of a Coalition that seeks to generate impact on State policies, ensuring that inclusive education is a real commitment and sustainable.

ASEC is more than a program: it is a movement that believes in equity, the right to learn and the strength of the community to transform realities.
