Our Vision

We dream of a future where the communities with which we work are the protagonists of their own destiny, strengthened by knowledge, organization, and autonomy. We see ourselves as a catalyst for deep processing, where education, health and sustainable livelihoods are rights guaranteed and no privileges inaccessible.

Our Mission

Un Mundo promotes the dignity, community, and self-sufficiencyfacilitating access to health services, education and sustainable livelihoods for low-income people in the basin of the Rio Cangrejal, and north of Honduras.

Our efforts are based on the understanding of underdevelopment as a historical consequence of the conquest and colonization, and not as an inherent condition.

Our Work in Honduras

We work with dedication in the villages of Honduras, especially in the basin Cangrejal, La Ceiba, Atlántida. These communities historically marginalized face limited access to institutions, high rates of illiteracy and an economy based primarily on subsistence agriculture.

From our perspective, the underdevelopment is, first of all, the deprivation of essential capabilities. Therefore, we conceive of development as the expansion of freedoms that enhance the human well-being.

Each of our programs has a pedagogical dimensionfostering a deeper understanding of the causes and effects of poverty, underdevelopment and promoting the collective action as a fundamental tool for change.

Since our inception in the community El Pitalwe have grown and evolved to become an organization with roots, purpose and vision.
